Replacing Turkish Lira with Syrian Lira and Its Impact on The Living Standard - A field study at the northwest regions of Syria -

In this research deals with the study of the experience of using the Turkish lira instead of the Syrian lira circulating in the northwestern Syria, and the research included all residents residing in the areas that witnessed this experience (Idlib governorate, its countryside, and the western countryside of Aleppo), and converting to the Turkish currency, and the opinions of part of them were surveyed as a sample for research. On the replacement experience and its repercussions on their living standards, the number of the studied sample reached 391 people.
The aim of the research is to study this experience and shed light on its economic effects and its reflection on the living conditions of people residing in the areas of application of the experiment.
The most important finding of the research was the existence of a positive impact of the experience of currency exchange on citizens' confidence in the currency in which the national currency was replaced, the absence of a positive effect of the currency exchange experiment on the purchasing power of the citizen, as well as the absence of a positive effect of the currency exchange experiment on the stability of the general level of prices in the regions that experienced a currency exchange
