Specifications of the Arabic Textbook "My Language" for the Third Grade of the First Cycle of Basic Education "An Analytical Study"

Abstract

 The aim of the research is to analyze the book "My Arabic Language" for the third grade of basic education in light of the specifications of a good textbook. To achieve the research objective, the researcher designed a tool for content analysis, consisting of 68 items distributed over five areas: general form and artistic output, content, pictures and illustrations, language and presentation style of the book, and exercises. After ensuring the validity and reliability of the tool, the researcher analyzed "My Arabic Language" book for the first and second semesters, including the student book and the student notebook. The results of the research showed that the majority of the specifications of a good textbook were achieved in "My Arabic Language" book for the third grade, and the research concluded with some recommendations and proposals. The most important of which is the adoption of a curriculum development committee in northwest Syria and making modifications to the pictures and illustrations in the two books.
