Abstract

In this study, the researcher will clarify the ruling on spending on education in Islamic jurisprudence and international law, comparing the two. The Islamic ruling on spending on education varies between obligatory and prohibited, passing through disliked, recommended, and permissible, depending on the type of knowledge the learner receives. Whereas in international law, such detailed distinctions do not exist; international conventions and treaties include the obligation of education and the obligation of states to fund it.
