Abstract

The Umayyad State occupied a great place in Islamic history. It spread on a wide area. This matter led to the emergence of many oppositionists to the state's rule who disputed its legitimacy. Thus, revolutions started here and there. People were divided based on their inclinations and beliefs among parties. It seems the most prominent party that tried to terminate the Umayyad's state is Al-Khawarij party. This sect
made a huge effort to achieve this goal. The research here will tackle AlKhawarij's takeover of Holy Mecca as an example.
