The Advantage of Calculation Based on the Stability of Resistance and the Effect of Bross-section Selection on the Saving in the Material of the Structural Element

Abstract

This research is summarized in the study and calculation of a structural element, which is a reliable permissible for both parties with an I-shaped cross section, length l=8(m) exposed to a distributed load , by choosing the dimensions of its cross section based on the fact that the maximum tensile stress resulting from cornering must be smaller than allowed using standard metal section tables, Then adopt a fixed length and thickness of a fixed base and side as well and determine the height of the section I on the basis of the stability of the resistance, i.e. the regulatory stress at any of the points of the permissible cross sections does not exceed the permissible tensile stress [σ], and determine the mass of the permissible in both cases. The process was repeated assuming that the permissible has a rectangular cross section with a base length b equal to half the length of the base of the section I and a constant height along the permissible length, then a variable based on the condition of constant resistance on tension and determination of the mass of the permissible in both cases. The height of the section I and the rectangular section was then determined based on the durability requirement on the shear, since there are two cross sections at which the cornering torque takes zero values (i.e. the tensile stress is zero), while the cutter voltage has non-zero values (i.e. the shear stress has tangible values), which must be considered. Finally, compare the results to show the advantage of calculation based on the stability of resistance and the selection of cross section through the saving index in the material of the structural element
