Evaluation of the faculty members teaching performance from the students point of view

The purpose of the survey was to identify the degree of the students' assessment of the performance of the teaching staff at the University of Idlib, and the survey used of the questionnaire "professional competencies required by the university professor from the perspective of his students", which consists of (61) items distributed in five fields which are: personality and human relations, planning and doing a lecture, and activating activities and methods of evaluation, and scientific and professional empowerment, and methods of reinforcement and motivation , and after the application of the questionnaire on a sample of (340) students from the University of Idlib and from different academic years. The results of the survey showed that the value of the weighted average was below acceptance in all fields except for the field of scientific and professional competence, the weighted average value of this area (2.01) indicated that it reached a good level. The field of planning and performance of the lecture occupied the final ranking for other fields. The researcher concluded that they do not have knowledge of the teaching methods and skills that help them improve and develop their teaching performanc.
